"My dear friends, with our tongues we speak both praises and curses. We praise our Lord and Father, and we curse people who were created to be like God, and this is not right. Can clean water and dirty water both flow from the same spring? Can a fig tree produce olives or a grapevine produce figs? Does fresh water come from a well full of salt water?" James 3:9-12

"By putting a bit into the mouth of a horse, we can turn the horse in different directions. It takes strong winds to move a large sailing ship, but the captain uses only a small rudder to make it go in any direction. Our tongues are small too, and yet they brag about big things.  It takes only a spark to start a forest fire! The tongue is like a spark. It is an evil power that dirties the rest of the body and sets a person's entire life on fire with flames that come from hell itself. James 3:3-6

your new friend,
Ryan Wilkie

Hey all, P3 here! First off, I want to state that I wish John Carlo good
luck in Texas, where he's moving. I hope we can find a way to keep in touch
with him, and I hope he makes some great friends (hopefullly though a local
youth group!)

Anyway, onto my Stubie experiecne...Well, it was diferent than last year,
partly because I knew what to expect: great speakers, dancing and singing,
crying, lauging, and getting to know the Lord a little better. One thing
that was rather surprising to me was addoration. I expected to get a little
emotional, but instead of crying, I felt a deep calm. It was like it was
just me and God, sitting down in a room with only the music playing in the
background.

I am happy to say that I made quite a bit of new friends this year at
Stubie. I'm hoping to keep them all thoughout my life and I strongly
encourage them to stick with the faith and the youth group.

On a side note: I don't know about you non-sports players, but I litterly
jumped out of my chair and shouted "YES!" when I saw that Rodd had managed
to get Mr. Simon to let whoever wanted to go to Fan the Fire to go and not
be in trouble for missing try-outs. I look forward to a great day with
everyone on the 26th!

It is, as of this time I'm creating this sentence, 4:55 PM on July 31...and
if you're reading this then be sure that YOU ARE LOVED! (Thanks to Ryan for
the idea in the shoutout above. =D) God Bless, -P3.
