Tame my tongue!

Lets not use the Lord's name in vain this week...only say things to and about others that will build them up and not tear them down. Every time we open our mouths to speak - STOP! - THINK! "Am I grieving or pleasing God with my attitude and actions? The uncontrolled tongue can do terrible damage. Damaging words spread destruction quickly, and no one can stop the results once they are spoken, and the scars remain forever. Lets see what guidance the bible has for us and put your tongue to good use today!

Eph. 4:29-30 Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear.  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption. 

 James 3:3-6  "By putting a bit into the mouth of a horse, we can turn the horse in different directions.   It takes strong winds to move a large sailing ship, but the captain uses only a small rudder to make it go in any direction. Our tongues are small too, and yet they brag about big things.  It takes only a spark to start a forest fire! The tongue is like a spark. It is an evil power that dirties the rest of the body and sets a person's entire life on fire with flames that come from hell itself .
