Happy New Year All!
As we enter this new year I wanted to make sure you
all had some dates on your family calendar. We are going to have our St.
Rose Youth Group retreat February 3rd,4th and 5th. This has been our most
popular retreat each year with no doubt this year will continue that
tradition. As always the retreat will be planned with any Juniors and
Seniors that wish to be on the planning team. Meetings will start this
Thursday and I need to know who wants to be on the team so please email me back
and let me know if you wish to participate. As soon as I confirm the time
with the other adults I will email those who are on the team.
The Steubenville East High School Youth
Conference will be July 14th - 16th, 2006. The theme this year is "God's
Love is....Unchanging". Please make sure to tell your parents ASAP so they
can put it on their calendar for the summer.
Also, this summer I am very pleased to inform
you that our annual Steubenville East follow up night has grown into a one day
Youth Rally. "Fan the Fire" 2006 will be August 26th at St. Rose of
Lima. We have an incredible line up this year as we will be doing the
retreat in association with the Diocese of Bridgeport. Righteous B will be
our host and key note speaker, Martin Doman will be our worship leader and Sean
Forrest will be speaking along with an afternoon concert. Fr. Peter Lynch
will be speaking and helping plan the day. I am pleased to announce as
well that Bishop Lori has confirmed that he will be with us to Celebrate our
closing Mass. Get this date on the calendar as I am sure it will sell out
fast.
Youth Group will resume next Sunday night 6:00 -
8:30 and I am very excited to see all of you as it has been a long time since we
have all been together. Remember youth group in your New Years
resolutions. Make an effort to become more involved as well as making an
effort to invite more to join us especially those that have been away for a
while. Please pass this email around to those that may be
interested. I will keep you all in my prayers throughout 2006.
